TREEM’s mission is to create Raw and Elegant design inspired by Nordic Nature which brings beauty and aspires to drive inner strength in the wearer and to encourage a movement in making a difference for the world’s greater good.
Carl-David Hagerbonn left a long career in the finance industry to start his own company with a mission to empower others and create positive change in the world. Hagerbonn wanted to offer people something they could wear that would make them feel elegant, remind them of their inner strength, and inspire them to live honestly. Jewellery with a minimalistic and empowering design was the perfect choice. Hagerbonn’s intention is for each piece of TREEM jewellery to hold a deeper significance for the wearer.
Our core values are shown in the “Raw Elegance” design language we use, with the sincere aim at bringing out inner strength and empowerment to create positive change. “I have met many interesting people through my traveling and living in different countries, what strikes me is that their personality often is a combination of rawness and elegance. The passionate strength, determination and can-do spirit is necessary to be able to succeed when something has to be changed – the rawness sparks this. It is equally important to treat the situation and people you meet in an elegant, kind and positive way – therefore our design language is raw and elegant.”
When something is raw it isn’t entirely perfect, but it is honest and real. Similarly, as humans, we are flawed but our flaws make us who we are. If you put aside feelings of fear, shame, and guilt toward your imperfections, you are able to see them for what they are: part of Your True Self. At TREEM, we believe it is necessary to accept your true self in order to have the freedom to become your BEST self. That is why our jewellery reflects rawness as well as elegance, as a reminder to celebrate all aspects of life, both perfect and imperfect.
Our Raw Elegance design language is inspired by Nordic nature with it’s fantastic fjells, forests, sharp rivers, and lakes. Each collection takes a certain element we love and turns it into fashionable jewellery that we hope you will love too.
TREEM’s logo is multiple in meaning in it’s symbolism – an arrow of self trueness & being true to others – an inward & outward anchor of elegance. It also symbolizes a Nordic heritage in a double hammer – a mission of strength, determination, and ambition,.
Our foundry takes pride in the process of making each piece by hand – and so do we. It’s a big difference knowing you are wearing something made with a soul behind it – and not a machine.
We work with 100% recycled silver and are step-by-step increasing the percentage of recycled gold we use. A challenging situation, but we are constantly challenging existing norms to be more sustainable and ethical in our production. We have full traceability and know which of our goldsmiths produced each piece.
