Treem Privacy Policy

At Treem we connect people to friends, content and all things digital. Each registered user of Treem may communicate with individuals they accept as friends and connect to using Treem. Communication can be a simple note, photos, videos, and links to other websites, articles or digital content. To view Treem members posts you need to accept them as friends, there is no public access to Treem posts.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how and when Treem collects, uses and shares your information. We will refer to use of our product as Treem Services which today is limited to the information captured on our apps available in both the Apple and Google stores. When using Treem Services you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, disclosure, and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Your information is controlled and stored by Treem, Inc., located at 2011 Palomar Airport Road, Suite 302, Carlsbad CA 92011. As a registered user you alone develop, control and are responsible for the messages you post and the content you submit through Treem Services. As a registered user you authorize Treem to use your information in, and as a result to transfer and store information in our data center located in the United States. Privacy and data protection laws may vary significantly in some countries; we currently do our best to abide by the United States standards. Information We Collect & Use

Treem Account Information: When you create or edit an account, you provide us with limited personal information, such as your name, email address and phone number. Within Treem, your name and username are listed publicly, including a limited view of your profile information which you can opt to control and restrict.

Contact Information: You may use your contact information, such as your email address or phone number, to customize your account or enable Treem Services. When you provide Treem with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages to authenticate and to help prevent spam, fraud, or abuse, and of course to help potential friends find you.

Additional Information: You may choose to make additional profile information accessible to the public. We provide you with security choices to limit the sharing of your city, state and country information as you see fit. You may also choose to sync your phone’s address book to connect/invite users you wish to connect with. Such address book syncing is only used for your convenience and such information is not used for any other purposes.

Posts, Branches, Public Branches: Treem’s Services are primarily designed to help you share information with your friends. Most of the information you provide through the use of Treem Services is information you are asking us to share with your friends. We may use information you post to make inferences, like what topics you may be interested in, and to customize the content we show you, including ads. When you share information or content like photos, videos, and links via the Treem Services, you should think carefully about what you are making available within your network.

Location Information: Treem may receive information about your location. For example, you may choose to publish your location in posts or on your Treem profile. We may use your location, to improve and customize the Treem Services and deliver local content for your review.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Treem does not share your private information with anyone.

Law and Harm: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Treem’s rights or property. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.

Business Transfers and Affiliates: In the event that Treem is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.

Accessing and Modifying Your Personal Information

If you are a registered user of Treem Services, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, disable, or modify the personal information you provided to us associated with your account. You may also disable your Treem account at any time from your profile settings.

Our Policy Towards Children

Treem Services are not intended for persons under 13 as indicated in our Terms of Use (https://treem.com/terms/). If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at info@treem.com. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.

Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will be available at https://treem.com/privacy/. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via your email address or actively within our app. By continuing to access or use Treem Services after those changes become public indicates your agreement and understanding of such changes.
